Publication Ethics

LAW & PASS: International Journal of Law, Public Administration and Social Studies is a peer-reviewed journal. All parties involved in the publication process—including editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher—are required to adhere to the highest standards of publication ethics.
This journal follows the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing all aspects of publication ethics, including research misconduct, conflicts of interest, and publication errors. These principles are implemented to ensure the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the scholarly publication process.
PT. Multidisciplinary Press Indonesia, as the publisher, fully supports the journal’s commitment to ethical and timely publication. The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions and maintains the independence and integrity of the editorial process.
Duties of Editors
Fair Decision-Making
Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, including originality, clarity, significance, and relevance, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political views.
Confidentiality
Editors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Information must not be disclosed to anyone other than those directly involved in the publication process. Uploading manuscripts to external generative AI tools is strictly prohibited.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
Handling Misconduct
Editors are responsible for taking appropriate action when ethical concerns or misconduct allegations arise, including correction, retraction, or expression of concern when necessary.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.
Promptness
Reviewers must inform the editor promptly if they are unable to review the manuscript or cannot meet the deadline.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential. Reviewers are strictly prohibited from sharing or uploading any manuscript content to external systems, including generative AI tools.
Standards of Objectivity
Reviews must be conducted objectively, without personal criticism. The review must reflect the reviewer’s own expertise and judgment. The use of generative AI to generate review reports is not permitted.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Duties of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must submit original work. Any use of others’ work must be properly cited. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their content, including any use of AI-assisted tools.
Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish the same research in multiple journals.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper citation of all sources is mandatory.
Authorship Criteria
Authorship must be limited to individuals who made significant contributions to the research. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts that may influence their work.
Correction of Errors
Authors must promptly notify the editor if significant errors are identified and cooperate in correcting or retracting the publication.
Disclosure of AI Usage
Authors must clearly disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted tools, including their purpose, in a dedicated section.
Use of AI in Images
The use of AI-generated images or manipulated figures is not permitted unless it is part of the research methodology and clearly explained.

The publisher ensures that editorial decisions remain independent and are based solely on academic merit.
The publisher supports the journal in resolving ethical issues and maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.
The publisher does not interfere in editorial processes but ensures compliance with ethical publishing standards.
