Establishment and First Publication

LAW & PASS commenced its publication in 2024. The journal's first issue, Volume 1, Number 1 (April 2024), was published as the inaugural issue of the journal. The first published articles addressed scholarly topics within public administration and related interdisciplinary fields, reflecting the journal's commitment to publishing research with international relevance.

From its establishment, LAW & PASS has operated as an open-access journal, providing immediate access to its published scholarly content. The journal assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to its articles to support persistent identification, citation, and discoverability of published research.

Development of the Journal

Following its establishment in 2024, LAW & PASS continued its publication program through subsequent issues and expanded its coverage across its three principal areas: Law, Public Administration, and Social Studies.

During its early development, the journal published contributions from authors affiliated with institutions in Indonesia and other countries. The journal has progressively strengthened its international orientation by welcoming scholarly contributions from a broader geographical and institutional community.

The journal also continued to develop its editorial and publishing infrastructure, including peer review procedures, publication ethics, open-access policies, copyright and licensing policies, digital preservation, DOI implementation, and online publication practices.

Publication Development

LAW & PASS initially published its content under Volume 1 (2024). The journal subsequently entered Volume 2 (2025) and continued its publication program with Volume 3 (2026). The continuity of publication reflects the journal's commitment to maintaining a regular scholarly publication schedule.

The journal currently publishes six issues per year, scheduled for February, April, June, August, October, and December. This publication frequency supports the journal's objective of providing a consistent platform for the dissemination of scholarly research.

Open Access and Publishing Standards

Since its establishment, LAW & PASS has developed its publishing policies in accordance with principles of transparency, accessibility, research integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing. All published articles are made openly available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing users to share and reuse published works in accordance with the terms of the license.

The journal applies a double-blind peer review process and maintains publication ethics and research integrity policies covering authors, reviewers, editors, and other participants in the publication process.

To support long-term accessibility and preservation of the scholarly record, LAW & PASS participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).

Indexing and Visibility Development

As part of its continuing development, LAW & PASS has progressively expanded its visibility through scholarly discovery and indexing services. The journal is currently listed or discoverable through services including DOAJ, ROAD, EBSCO, Google Scholar, GARUDA, The Keepers, Scilit, OpenAlex, and Dimensions.

In September 2026, LAW & PASS achieved an important milestone with its official inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). This development represents part of the journal's continuing commitment to open access, editorial transparency, publication ethics, and international scholarly visibility.

Continuing Development

LAW & PASS continues to strengthen its editorial standards, international authorship and readership, peer review practices, research integrity framework, digital preservation, metadata quality, and indexing visibility.
